Gavin Degraw Is Back At AC Radio
Gavin Degraw is back at AC radio and that is always a good thing as he is a format favorite. His latest single “Make A Move” (RCA/RLG) is being lauded as one of his best by programmers and music critics alike. Also getting back on track is the Fray. One of the best bands to come along in quite some time, they are getting some welldeserved action for the song “Love Don’t Die” (Epic/Sony). Jason Derulo is getting some strong spin action and he may have found a welcome home at radio beyond Top40. “Marry Me” (Beluga Heights/WB) is his latest offering and it once again showcases just what a strong and talented artist he really is. We’ll see how it all plays out for him in the coming weeks but so far he’s off to building another music base of supportive fans. Passenger is one act to be on the watch for. They have a unique sound that is fast becoming a real winner in the AC arena. Their current single “Let Her Go” (Nettwerk) is brilliant and it’s getting spins and praise just about everywhere at radio. One act that has really brought it all home recently are the Lorde. The debut single “Royals” (Lava/Republic) made a rapid climb to the top of the charts at Top40 and now has found a home at the AC format that is welcoming them with open arms. It’s such a brilliant track and as it took me awhile to really embrace it, I can now say I’m hooked.
American Authors are making quite the splash as of late. Their super red hot track entitled “Best Day Of My Life” (Island) is quickly taking the radio world by storm. Be on the lookout for great things to come from this outfit. Matt Nathanson continues to be one of the smartest songwriters on the planet. His latest single “Kinks Shirt” (Vanguard) puts those talents in full display. Chubby Checker is back at the format and that’s always a good thing. His current hit single “Changes” (Teec/Red) is ever so good and we’re so thrilled to have him back on the charts, Newcomer Burt Conrad is making quite the name for himself. His debut single “It’s A Sure Thing” (SeaBright) is making its way fast to the top of our AC charts and for good reason. Pearl Jam are back and make no mistake about that. “Sirens” (Monkeywrench/Republic) is their latest and I must admit this one has potential traction. The act Margo Ray is making quite the splash. Their new single “Tempted” (Organica Music Group) will be worth your time and throw some extra spins in for this one. A Great Big World have made quite the story for themselves. Their debut single “Say Something” (Epic/Sony) caught the attention of Christina Aguilera and she joined them in some vocal support. They recently debuted the single on The Voice and received some major critical acclaim. Look for some monster weeks ahead for this brilliant piece of art. Katy Perry is back at radio and she continues to amaze. “Unconditionally” (Capitol) is her latest and once again it has #1 written all over it. Imagine Dragons continue their strong building process. They can now add the single “Demons” (Interscope) to their list of current hit singles. Bruno Mars keeps rocking strong at the format. “Gorilla” (Atlantic/WEA) is his latest and this title track could go all the way. Britney Spears is back and in a big bad way. Her cut “Work Bitch” (RCA/RLG) is fast becoming a real favorite at multi-formats. Daughtry is back at AC radio where he belongs. “Waiting For Superman” (RCA/RLG) is his latest offering and one of this best tracks to date. Newcomer Anthony Williams is off to a powerful start. His debut single “Close T You” (Wood “N” Nickle) has ranked #1 most added for several weeks now.
