Brad Paisley Isn’t Slowing Up One Bit
Brad Paisley isn’t slowing up one bit. He’s now taking his new “Country Nation” (Arista Nashville) for a spin and many of our music and program directors are jumping all over this one. The same can be said about the new Dustin Lynch. “Mind Reader” (Broken Bow) is the cut that is getting a big thumbs up from our panel and for good reason, it’s a real winner. Carrie Underwood is on fire and make no mistake about that. Country radio is loving her new “Smoke Break” (19 Recordings Limited/Arista Nashville) and that keeps the good folks at American Idol pretty happy as they get set for their final season.
The Band Perry continues their winning ways and are keeping their streak of hits alive and well. “Live Forever” (Republic Nashville) is their current and you may want power this one up in the morning’s just to wake the folks up. Sam Hunt continues to be the hottest male artist at Country radio. Everything he touches these days turns to gold and his new “Break Up In A Small Town” (MCA Nashville) is no exception. You can expect some very big things ahead for Sam and this cut in the weeks to come. Tell him I said so.
Luke Bryan is your new king of Country and his summer tour and awards showing is all you need to know. He and his label are pulling out all the stops to make sure that “Strip It Down” (Capitol Nashville) goes to the top of the charts and that just might happen. I really like the new single from Sammy Sadler. “No Place To Land” (S) is Sammy at his very best and please see about making some room for this multi-talented recording artist. Jon Pardi also has a real good thing going. The track “Head Over Boots” (Capitol Nashville) is getting some major support at the format so you might want to spend more time with it.
Ronny Collins is pulling in some rather impressive numbers at radio. It’s all thanks to “Remember When” (Silver Buckle) which is quite a good single to keep in a solid rotation. Also getting some love and support is the latest from Olivia Lane. Her “You Part 2” (Big Spark Music Group) is fast becoming a real favorite among our music and & programmers so that may tell you that there is a story going on that needs your immediate attention.
Eileen Carey is getting lots of love and support for her latest offering. “Faith” (RolleyCstr Music) is the cut that is rocking our Country charts. It’s also getting some nice crossover action so that should tell you that something very special is going on. Emily Haines is also attracting attention at radio for the track “Outside In” (SSM Evolution). David Nail has a good thing in the works as his “Night’s On Fire” (MCA Nashville) takes flight.
Joey Canyon has a new single that is getting raves. “Life Without You” (Glo Dot) is the single and it appears that this one is set to do some amazing things in the weeks to come. Don’t be the last to add this monster record. Morgan Riley is taking a good spin with “Down South” (Skytone) and so far so very, very good. Florida Georgia Line is moving to the top with their “Anything Goes” (Big Machine/Universal). Seems like everything they do moves to the very top of the charts. Old Dominion has also found a lot of love for their “Break Up With Him”.
Chuck Murphy is getting some nice Country attention for his new “How Many Times” (One West). The single is a mainstream smash and the same is set for his story at the Country format. He’s been here before and this time out he’s here as a solo artist. There is a big story building for Chris Cox. His “Honky Tonk Hellcat” (CMM) has been the surprise hit of the year and our stations are all over this one from Country to Mainstream and in a very big way. Our Fall Music Preview shows the very best in Country radio and please keep your support going strong for all of these very talented artists. I’ll have more for you next time right here.
