Under The Rug Announce U.S. Tour Dates
Under The Rug has unveiled North American tour dates to promote their forthcoming two-part album, happiness is easy. Alongside the tour announcement, the band is set to release the lead single, “mad girl’s love song,” on May 31st. For a full list of tour dates and ticket details, see HERE.
Under The Rug’s upcoming album, happiness is easy, unfolds over two parts and 30 tracks, delving into the complexities of seeking joy. This release features the band’s hallmark mix of irreverence, irony, and dark humor. Produced with the assistance of David Peters and incorporating contributions from co-writers such as Sam Hollander (Panic! At the Disco, Fitz and the Tantrums) and Mason Jennings, the album artfully combines deeply personal reflections with broader existential inquiries about life and satisfaction. The lead single, “mad girl’s love song,” is an interpretation of Sylvia Plath’s famous villanelle.
Under The Rug, an indie group hailing from Austin, Texas, has woven a distinct and emotive musical narrative throughout their ten-year journey. Fronted by the charismatic Casey Dayan on vocals and guitar, with the skilled contributions of guitarist Sean Campbell and drummer Brendan McQueeney, the band masterfully mixes elements of indie, folk, and Americana. Their dedication to storytelling remains at the heart of their music, creating a rich tapestry of sound. Whether performing at sold-out shows or writing on the go in their beat-up van, the band continues to resonate with fans, capturing both hearts and imaginations. Under The Rug has garnered cheers from American Songwriter, Rolling Stone India, Atwood Magazine, and even received a co-sign from The Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle.
Under The Rug will head out on their headlining North American tour in late August—find the dates HERE.
