Superadio and Miles Ahead Broadcasting ink a distribution and ad sales agreement to syndicate the “AfroZons” radio show. Under the partnership, the program is the first syndicated radio show to bring Afrobeats, a popular new trend in music and culture, to the U.S. airwaves. Produced weekly from the flagship studios at WPWX-FM/Chicago, “Afrozons” is hosted by multimedia presenter and Grammy Academy member Sheila O.

The “Afrozons” radio show features a unique blend of Afrobeats and Hip Hop. The playlist is curated to include trending hits in urban music and Afrobeats, a fusion of British House music, Hiplife, Dancehall, Soca, R&B and more. The show also features contributions from culture-connected and culture-adjacent personalities, providing expert insights and format related features. “AfroZons” targets the adults 18-34 with a secondary focus on adults 25-54.

“I am excited to be part of the historical ‘first’ that brought Afro beats to mainstream terrestrial radio in the United States,” said Afrozons creator and host Sheila O. “Our goal was to showcase through the lens of music, fashion, and live shows our beautiful culture. We are thrilled about this partnership, which will help us amplify our mission to continue bringing Africa to the world on a larger platform.”

Superadio President Eric Faison added, “The Afrozons brand, with the syndicated radio show at its core, offers tremendous opportunities for affiliations, network radio, digital sales, and collaborative partnerships. It’s a big win for everyone!”

Miles Ahead Broadcasting CEO Sheila Eldridge commented, “The time is NOW for fresh content and music that pays tribute to our culture in a contemporary format that targets a new audience for stations…Afrozons is that show! I’m honored that the experienced team at Superadio has the foresight and sees the vision.”
