Sunny 106 Campaign Lights Up Lives with Make-A-Wish
WDSN (Sunny 106) in Du Bois, PA once again illuminated the hopes and dreams of children with critical illnesses by raising $114,500 during their 31st Annual Light Up a Child’s Life campaign. This impressive sum will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, supporting their mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
The first full week of December was a hub of activity at Sunny 106, as the station welcomed the Chapter’s Executive Director, volunteers, and wish children who shared their heartfelt stories on-air. This annual tradition not only raises funds but also awareness, bringing the community closer to the cause.
Local schools played a significant role in the campaign, with students raising funds and visiting the station to present their contributions live on air. These moments highlighted the community’s spirit and commitment to supporting charitable causes.
Since its inception in 1993, Sunny 106 has raised over $2.2 million for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. General Manager Lori Lewis, who has been involved in every campaign, expressed her admiration for the community’s steadfast support. “It is truly amazing to see how this community rallies around and supports Make-A-Wish,” said Lewis. “No matter what’s going on in the community or in the world that could negatively affect donations, our community always comes through.”
Sunny 106 continues to serve the DuBois area, a rural market in Northwest PA, playing a pivotal role in uniting the community for a noble cause.
