Staytus Unleashes Powerful New Single “Can You Hear Me?”

Experimental artist Staytus has just released her latest single, “Can You Hear Me?”, a raw and expressive track that plunges listeners into the depths of isolation, inner turmoil, and the desperate search for connection. “Can You Hear Me?” is now available to stream and download on all platforms.

“Can You Hear Me?” explores the stark contrast between outward appearances and inner struggles, with Staytus delving into concepts of faith, personal demons, and the overwhelming desire to be heard and understood. The track highlights her lyrical depth and masterful blend of punk rock, electro-industrial, and nu-metal influences. “The lyrics paint a vivid picture of someone grappling with intense emotions, feeling trapped and unable to express themselves fully,” Staytus explains. “The recurring question ‘Can you hear me?’ serves as a powerful chorus, emphasizing my plea for acknowledgment and understanding.” This compelling new release, produced by the acclaimed Sean Beavan (Nine Inch Nails, System of a Down, Slayer, 8mm) — specifically known for his iconic work on Nine Inch Nails’s The Downward Spiral — showcases Staytus’s unique ability to merge intense, evocative imagery with raw, unfiltered emotion. Highlighting their partnership, Staytus adds “He pushed me to explore new creative territory and really capture the raw emotion I was after.” Showcasing a deep sound-design expertise throughout the collaboration, Staytus’s work is a dynamic blend of composition, performance, and production.

Staytus, the alter ego of recording wunderkind Sam Grundemann, is one such trailblazer, relentlessly pushing the limits of what it means to create music. By the age of 17, Grundemann had already earned multiple recording degrees and certifications, paving the way for the creation of Staytus — a digital dark-angel persona who fearlessly addresses the struggles facing today’s youth. Building on the foundation laid by her 2022 debut, Disease of the Mind, and her sophomore album, Wasteland of Broken Hearts, Staytus continues to cement her reputation as a fearless artist. Her music, characterized by its thought-provoking themes centered around social fragmentation pulls listeners into a sonic dimension where Gen X-inspired angst meets animé and modern gaming culture.

As Staytus continues to be a force in the modern experimental and industrial space, she effortlessly mixes the rebellious spirit of the past with an innovative edge. “Can You Hear Me?” is streaming now on digital platforms worldwide.
