Sarina Unleashes Nostalgic Pop-Rock Power with New Single “Skip A Beat”

Rising punk-pop sensation Sarina is back with a new single, “Skip A Beat,” a nostalgic nod to the early 2010s pop-rock era. This song is a powerful follow-up to her previous single, “Living In The Moment,” maintaining the themes of new life experiences and self-realization. “Skip A Beat” is available to stream and download on all streaming platforms. A Japanese version of the song and a lyric video will also be released alongside the single.

“Skip A Beat” is about ascending above a breakup and accepting that they are not the one. In typical heartbreaks, people often feel insecure and regretful, but Sarina flips the script by showcasing a side that is empowering and self-loving. “‘Skip A Beat’ is a fun, playful breakup anthem with a driving beat and catchy throwback sound with some ‘stick it to ‘em’ energy,” Sarina explains. “I originally wrote it in Japanese and then decided to arrange and adapt the song in English, changing the words to represent the perspective of someone recently single who recognizes their self-worth.” The song’s influential rock vibe is immediately felt through its powerful and commanding instrument play, which serves as the backbone of the track. The dominant guitar presence is marked by a combination of gritty, overdriven chords and sharp, melodic leads that cut through the mix with precision. Sarina’s vocals are both assertive and emotionally driven, delivering lyrics that resonate with anyone who’s ever found strength in moving on.

Sarina, a bilingual artist born in Hawaii to a Lebanese mother and Japanese father, has drawn significant influence from her international upbringing in Tokyo. This unique background shapes her music, resonating with fans of Avril Lavigne, Olivia Rodrigo, and Paramore. Inspired by her artistically gifted parents, Sarina’s music delves into themes of mental health and personal struggle, crafting a sound that is both relatable and emotionally resonant. Her debut single, “Identity,” released under the Sony RED label, highlighted her multi-instrumental talents, with Sarina playing drums, guitar, bass, and piano on the track. Her thought-provoking lyrics and catchy melodies have earned her spots on coveted playlists like Ones to Watch’s “Now Watching” and Apple Music’s “New in Rock.”

As Sarina continues to carry the legacy of reminiscent rock, her musical talent expands to a sound that leaves listeners excited. Stream “Skip A Beat” in English and Japanese now on all digital music platforms and watch the lyric video on Sarina’s YouTube channel.  To stay updated on new tracks and videos, follow Sarina on Instagram @Sarinasmusic and TikTok @sarinamusicofficial.
