Rolie Polie Guacamole’s 12th Album for Kids & Families – “On the Stoop”
Holy Guacamole! Brooklyn’s award-winning titans of kindie music are at it again! With skills honed by nearly 20 years of working directly with kids and families, Rolie Polie Guacamole is excited to present the first of two new kindie albums for 2025. The band’s 12th album, On the Stoop, will be released May 23, 2025 on all streaming platforms, on CD, and on vinyl.
Frank Gallo and Andrew Tuzhilin created Rolie Polie Guacamole in 2006 and since then have earned a reputation as one of the hardest-working bands in family music. Their kid-smart, parent-friendly style dresses up original tunes with vibrant harmonies and deft instrumental layers, pushing the parameters of what kindie can be.
Produced by GRAMMY-winning Dean Jones, On the Stoop continues the Rolie Polie Guacamole tradition of catchy, high-energy songs in a variety of styles that hit on favorite kid topics like ghosts, fishing, going outside in the rain, and moongazing. There are bops like “Pickleball” that aim to get kids up and moving, and silly songs like “Traffic” and “Ghost Car,” which completes the RPG trilogy of ghost songs (“Ghost Dog,” “Library Ghost,” and “Ghost Car”), making them one of the spookiest bands in kindie. On the Stoop also includes quirky tunes like the story of Brahms’ (not Bram) Stoker’s Lullaby! The vibe is lighthearted fun, and the music is incredibly addictive.
Rolie Polie Guacamole went from very busy kindie band to viral meme on January 19, 2024, when the popular web series Recess Therapy released a video titled “How to Make a #1 Hit Song in a Day.” In this video, host Julian Shapiro-Barnum asked five-year-old super-fan Ike to list his three favorite musical artists. Ike promptly replied, “Rolie Polie Guacamole, Tom Petty, and The Beatles” and proceeded to sing several of his own compositions. This adorable video instantly went viral and has since been viewed more than 100 million times across Tiktok and Instagram. With Ike’s permission, one of his songs, “Yum Yum Yum I Love a Tasty Dinner,” was later enhanced and recorded by Rolie Polie Guacamole and is included in On the Stoop.
In their “other lives” as adult musicians, Frank Gallo and Andrew Tuzhilin perform in Karabas Barabas, a Brooklyn-based trio that plays rock music with a wonderfully weird, fun, punk twist. The shock of losing their producer, friend, and mentor Steve Albini in 2024 hit Frank and Andrew hard, especially because they had just finished mastering and pressing 99 Cent Store, the last Karabas Barabas album they would make with Albini. To help cope with this loss, Frank and Andrew returned “home” to Albini’s famed studio, Electrical Audio, in Chicago, to record their next kindie album, Rockamole. 99 Cent Store will be out on May 7, 2025, which is the first anniversary of Steve Albini’s death, and Rockamole will be released on September 19.
As if that isn’t enough, Frank Gallo will release a solo EP, Gallo, with his band Phranque on June 13, and he is also running for mayor of New York City as an independent candidate on a platform of minimal-cost, practical solutions geared to dramatically improving the day-to-day existence of New Yorkers. ABOUT ROLIE POLIE GUACAMOLE:

Andrew Tuzhilin grew up in the New York and New Jersey suburbs and met Frank Gallo while attending high school in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. In 2006, after studies at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Andrew joined Frank in Brooklyn, where they concocted the first batch of songs for what would become Rolie Polie Guacamole. In addition to recording and performing together in Rolie Polie Guacamole and other projects, Andrew and Frank teach music in NYC.
