Reno Media Group Ups Bill Schulz to VP of Programming
Veteran broadcaster Bill Schulz is named Vice President of Programming at Reno Media Group, overseeing programming and operations for nine Northern Nevada stations. Schulz’s rise through the ranks began 28 years ago when he first joined KODS, known at the time as Oldies 104 and now 103.7 The River, as a morning co-host. His career trajectory at Reno Media Group has included roles as Program Director of 96.5 Alice and Operations Manager for the entire group.
Reno Media Group President Tom Quinn praised Schulz’s long-term contributions, noting his “vision, creativity, love of Northern Nevada, and devotion to public service” as instrumental in shaping the company into a leading broadcast business in the western United States.
RMG Vice President and General Manager Kara Brown commended Schulz for his dedication and professionalism. “Bill still starts his day at 5 a.m. to host the Alice morning show, and seamlessly transitions to leading our programming team and technical operations,” Brown said.
Looking ahead, Schulz expressed excitement about his new role and the company’s future. “We’re kicking off 2025 with plans for new products and innovative community engagement strategies,” he stated. Schulz also extended his gratitude to Quinn and Brown for their continued support and confidence in his abilities.
Reno Media Group owns several stations under Schulz’s purview, including KRNO (Sunny 106.9), KOLC (Ten Country @ 97.3), KODS (103.7 The River), KLCA (96.5 Alice) along with several HD stations such as Juan 101.7, Suave 96.9, Swag 104.9, KZTQ (96.1 The Zone) and KBZZ (92.5 The Hog).
