Pop, Fashion & Queer Icon Tamta Returns with Unapologetic New Single ‘AUTOTAPINOSI’
Pop, fashion, and queer icon Tamta returns with her bold new single ‘AUTOTAPINOSI’, set for release on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, via her indie label Kiki Music Group and exclusively distributed through Minos EMI / Universal Music Group. Marking a powerful new chapter in her ever-evolving sonic universe, the track delivers a fearless statement on women’s empowerment, ownership and self-worth through the lens of unapologetic liberation. Produced by TEO.x3 (Prada, Dsquared2, Charity Kase, Camper), with songwriting by Anastasios Tsordas (aka TSO), who was named one of DAZED’s top 10 emerging artists to watch for 2026, and Barbara Argyrou (BARBZ), who has worked with the likes of Martin Garrix and Alok, ‘AUTOTAPINOSI’ is built on a striking EBM foundation blending industrial, electronic and post-punk elements. The track pushes Tamta’s alt-pop experimentation into darker, more confrontational territory.
At its core, ‘AUTOTAPINOSI’ challenges traditional narratives around power and desire. The track, accompanied by a music video directed by Adam C. Keller, places women firmly at the centre, reclaiming space, breaking taboos and reframing erotic agency on their own terms. While many artists allude to these themes, Tamta confronts them head-on with striking clarity. Tamta states: “AUTOTAPINOSI plays with the idea that surrender can be a form of power. It’s about owning your desires without shame and redefining empowerment on your own terms. We wrote it during a music camp with my team, and everything came together in a very instinctive, effortless way.”
With over 250 million combined streams and views, Tamta continues to cement her status as one of Europe’s most influential pop figures. Beyond music, she has appeared in Vogue, Madame Figaro, and Marie Claire while collaborating with global brands including Mugler, Adidas, and Converse. Her multifaceted career includes representing Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest and serving as a judge on X Factor Greece and X Factor Georgia. She has performed across Europe, including major Pride stages in front of 80k people. In 2025, Tamta reintroduced herself globally with ‘THE VILLAIN HEROINE’, the critically acclaimed album produced by TEO.x3. The release was praised by BBC Radio London, Daily Express, Wonderland, Mixmag, METAL, and Antidote Mag, with editorial shoots featured in SICKY and a digital cover for NASTY. The album’s singles amassed more than 3 million views on YouTube. This new era included a sold-out residency at the queer techno club SMUT Athens and a headline show at Colours Hoxton in London last May, alongside a standout performance at the prestigious music-meets-fashion event MadWalk. Tamta recently featured on TEO.x3’s breakout hyperpop single ‘sprite’ from his debut EP, earning major Spotify editorial support including New Music Friday UK, Hyperpop and All New Pop. The track also received rave reviews from NOTION, 1883 Magazine, FAULT, BBC Introducing and Mixmag, and was named ‘Track of the Week’ on Riverside Radio, marking another milestone in her evolving career. This February, Tamta made waves on social media following her performance at Sing For Greece 2026, alongside the Contemporary National Orchestra. The performance was widely praised by critics and fans, leading to the release of the live recording on Spotify titled LIVE MUTATIONS.
Looking forward, Tamta—who draws inspiration from boundary-pushing artists including Charli XCX, Slayyyter, PinkPantheress, Poppy, Ashnikko, FKA Twigs, and Arca—is already gearing up for a new creative chapter. She will return to London for another headline show at Colours Hoxton on March 27, 2026. Additional performances, music releases and a new album are already in the pipeline, signaling an exciting new phase in her artistic evolution.
