Murfin Media Rebrands KVWF/Wichita as ”100.5 The Twister”

Murfin Media introduced a new format in Wichita Thursday at noon, rebranding KVWF (My Country 100.5) to the new “100.5 The Twister,” with the slogan “Country’s Biggest Hits.” The Twister will feature Program Director & morning host Dan Holiday weekdays from 6-10am.

Holiday grew up on a farm near El Dorado, where he developed a passion for radio and Kansas weather. He’s worked in Country radio in both Wichita and in Kansas City. In 2005, Holiday earned a broadcast meteorologist certification from Mississippi State University.

Middays will be occupied by Carol Hughes, weekdays from 10am-3pm. Hughes is thrilled to return to the Wichita airwaves. She spent her entire radio career there and can’t wait to share her love of Country music once again. Hughes is also a playwright for Mosley Street Melodrama and a podcast host.

“I’m so excited to be back on the Wichita airwaves. I’ve always loved country music, and I love the new format. What excited me the most was getting to do local radio again at a station that cares about this wonderful community,” said Hughes.

Becca will handle afternoons, weekdays from 3-7pm. She has lived and worked in Nashville for over 25 years, interviewing every Country artist from Garth Brooks to Jason Aldean to Morgan Wallen, and Reba McEntire to Carrie Underwood to Lainey Wilson. With access to all the country music awards shows, red carpets, Nashville artist parties and special events, she keeps her listeners in-the-know.

“When Dan Holiday asked me if I’d be interested in doing the afternoon show, my love of country music and passion for radio instantly said yes. Plus, Dan and I have successfully worked together on many projects throughout our 30 year friendship, and I look forward to working alongside him to bring his vision for The New 100.5 The Twister to life,” commented Becca.
