Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) KOBQ-FM/Albuquerque afternoon host Jenelle Vannoy as the 2024 “Behind The Mic” mentee. The “Behind The Mic Mentorship” program is a year-long experience exclusively for female personalities from any U.S. based music format that have been in an on-air position for at least 3-5 years in local or national radio programming and have demonstrated a desire to grow their on-air career.

The selected mentee receives personalized conversations and advice from a wide range of industry professionals. Additionally, the program affords the mentee the chance to attend Radio Show 2025 this April in Las Vegas.

Vannoy currently hosts the afternoon show on KOBQ-FM in Albuquerque. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, she holds a degree in Journalism from NC A&T State University and a degree in Film/Video & Cinema from UNLV in 2013. She began her career at iHeartMedia in Las Vegas before joining Radio One, where she handled digital content for three Charlotte-based stations.

A skilled multimedia professional, Jenelle has collaborated with notable names such as VH1’s Dutchess Lattimore and R&B artist Sunshine Anderson. Her expertise has also been featured on MSNBC and Very Local’s “Finding Adventure.”
