Luke Bryan Keeps Pulling Down
Luke Bryan keeps pulling down hit after hit and he’s back at it once again. “Crash My Party” (Capitol Nashville) is his latest gem and that should help build his already impressive list of big records. American Idol icon
Carrie Underwood continues her winning ways. The single “See You Again” (Arista Nashville) is getting a thumbs up from many of our music and program directors. Look for some additional big weeks ahead on this one, especially leading up to the American Idol finals. Timing is everything. Billy Currington continues to win the hearts and minds of country music fans everywhere. His latest entitled “Hey Girl” (Mercury) is just another reason to pay attention to this artist that seems to get better and better. Hunter Hayes is one amazing talent. Not only is he a great songwriter and vocalist, he also plays one hell of a mean guitar. It’s displayed again as his “I Want Crazy” (Atlantic/WEA) takes flight. I just caught him on Dancing With The Stars playing alongside music icon Stevie Wonder and I must say he held his own. During the latest CRS I got very plugged into Kacey Musgraves. She put on a stellar bit during the Grand Ole Opry event and I been following her closely ever since. Her new “Blowin’ Smoke” (Mercury Nashville) is just another reason to be a fan. I believe that there is a very bright future ahead for the multi-talented Kacey Musgraves and it’s about time. Blake Shelton has teamed up with his wife’s vocal band the Pistol Annies & Friends for a real treat, “Boys ‘Round Here” (WB/WEA) is the gem that I’m talking about and now that everything Blake does is turning into gold and platinum why not. Country recording artist Nikki Nelson has a lot to be proud of. “Momma’s Wall Of Fame” (Trip Jct) is the one out now that is helping to build her name. The LoCash Cowboys are back at it and it’s about time. “Chase A Little Love” (Average Joes Entertainment) is the one that many of our programmers are loving. You might want to give this one a few spins around the block. Jon Pardi is one super talent and we’re happy to see some good things happening for him at radio. “Up All Night” (Capitol) is his latest single and watch for some big weeks ahead for this one. Eric Paslay is “on the move” and make no mistake about that. His “Friday Night” (Capitol) is a good time record for all and should find a good home on many of our country reporting stations. Joanna Smith is also on the move and building a fast and furious story. “Girls Are Crazy” (RCA/RLG) is the gem that is helping to take her to the forefront. We wish her the best in her battle to move to the top of the charts. The Band Perry continues to rock the country world. They do it all so well and their latest success can be found in “Done” (Republic) and good for them. Jason Aldean continues to be a fan favorite. He keeps rocking on the road just as his “1994” (Broken Bow/Sony) single takes flight. David Shelby is getting some love out there at radio. The single “Kick A Little Dirt Around” seems to be making all the right moves. Steve Richard is another artist that is making waves. His “Keep On Rollin’” (Force MP) appears to be well on its way. Recording artist Greg Susoreny is also getting some attention from the format. “Gently Breathe” (Aqua Blue) is his latest and it appears to have a lot of legs. Brad Paisley has a good thing going and that’s a sure thing. His latest and greatest release of “Beat This Summer” (Arista Nashville) could not have been timed out any better. I’m still thinking about his amazing performance at this year’s CRS and I guess that’s why we go to these things. Amy Rose is a name you are going to be hearing quite a lot these days. Her new “Party Like A Redneck” (Wild Rose Music) pay just be the ticket that puts her on the map. We’ll see how that all plays out in the weeks to come. Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift have some magic going but don’t tell Faith Hill. Together they make beautiful music with “Highway Don’t Care” (Big Machine/Universal).
