Los Lonely Boys Are Back At AC
Los Lonely Boys are back at AC radio and it’s about time. Many of our radio programmers are really loving their new “Don’t Walk Away” (Playing In Traffic) and for good reason. We’re still seeing some amazing action from American Authors. This red hot new powerhouse outfit has a real gem on their hands with “Best Day Of My Life” (Island) that is fast becoming a solid pop music anthem. Also making a bit of music history is the band
Passenger. Their debut single “Let Her Go” (Nettwerk) is a solid track that has captured the hearts of radio listeners everywhere. If you are not playing it, now would be the time to treat your listeners to a real magical song. Matt Nathanson has become one of the most interesting and powerful artists in the AC arena. He’s back with another bit of magic in the single “Kinks Shirt” (Vanguard). New Music Weekly was one of the first to come tohis attention and we’re so glad we did. Also continuing in strong fashion is the always brilliant Colbie Caillat. Her latest gem in “Hold On” (Universal/UMG) really puts her in a whole new league. Our music and program directors are all over this one big time. Having some help from super producer and One Republic’s Ryan Tedder has also been huge in making all of this happen for her. The real new kids on the block are Fitz & The Tantrums. From out of nowhere they are taking the music world by storm with the debut hit single “The Walker” (Elektra/WEA). This track is fast becoming the new darling track for our panel of AC reporting stations and for good reason.
Imagine Dragons continue their winning ways at radio. The single “Demons” (Interscope) keeps them on top of the rest and there is more to come from this amazing band to be sure. Katy Perry continues to rule the music world. Her single “Unconditionally” (Capitol) is pulling in phones with every spin and the AC format especially is all over this one big time. Lady Gaga and her new best pal R Kelly have a good thing going too. “Do What U Want” (Streamline/Interscope) puts this strange pairing in for a winning combination. Come to think about it – the couple actually makes sense. Aloe Blacc is now the man of the hour. He burst on the scene as vocalist for Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and now he takes his own step with “The Man” (Interscope). We wish the best to him as he is a solid talent. Newcomer Lawrence Preston is off to a rocking start. “Driving Me Away” (Gemstone) is the single that is making magic for him. We’ll see how it all plays out in the weeks to come but so far so good for this emerging talent. Bad Company lead vocalist Paul Rogers is back at radio and that is a very good thing. The man who brought you amazing vocals on “All Right Now”, “Feel Like Makin’ Love”, “Can’t Get Enough” and “Ready For Love” now takes the new “I Can’t Stand The Rain” for a ride and radio is already loving this single big time. We’re so glad to have the multi-talented Paul Rogers back at radio. Newcomer Cole Phoenix is pulling in some rather impressive numbers for “UFO” (Noble NoBull) and that should help move the single a much higher level. Multi NMA nominee Marsha Jewell continues her winning ways. Her new “Butterfly” (Jewell Lane) single has been on our “most added” list for almost a month now, a sign that this one could go all the way. Another NMA nominee Allen D is also rocking the music world with his new “You & The Night & The Music” (New Terra) single. All of the above really deserve your support and votes. Visit our New Music Weekly sight and led your hand in helping to choose your winners for this year’s New Music Awards. I’ll have more on the greatest AC records right here next time. Hope you are having a Great CRS!
