Legendary Country KOKE-FM in Austin Moves Entirely Online
Country KOKE-FM/Austin, along with The Horn, are moving exclusively online. Beginning June 1, the stations transitioned from terrestrial over-the-air radio frequencies to a focus on its digital streaming platforms. “By harnessing the power of our digital platforms, we will reach a broader, more diverse audience, offering them unparalleled access to our unique, high-quality programming anytime, anywhere,” said KOKE.
With the move, Country Music Radio Hall of Famer and Texas Radio Hall of Famer Bob Cole as well as Eric Raines both exit. KOKE is rolling out a new lineup, including Scotty & Amber frfom 6-10am and Rita Ballou from 3-7pm.
“If there is ever one constant in media, it is the unpredictability. As we navigate the transition associated with the sale of our station tower frequencies, there have been some unexpected changes to the lineup. We understand that these changes can be surprising and may affect your listening experience, and we appreciate your patience and continued support during this transition,” said the station in a statement.
