WOVU-FM, Cleveland’s Urban Alternative, will make history this Saturday with the debut of The Abbie Knights Show, airing at 1pm. The program, produced in Atlanta and hosted by media personality Abbie Knights, will originate from WOVU as its flagship station, with plans for syndication already in the works.

The launch marks a significant milestone for Cleveland radio, as Knights becomes the first Latina to lead an Urban radio show in the market. Once syndicated, it will also become the first Latina-led urban radio show to be nationally distributed from Cleveland, and one of only a few of its kind in the U.S.

“Having Abbie Knights join WOVU is a historic and exciting step forward,” said Darvio Morrow, CEO of FCB Radio Network and Operations Manager of WOVU 95.9 FM. “Her show brings a unique perspective that reflects the diversity and cultural vibrancy of our community, while introducing a powerful new voice to Cleveland radio.”

Knights, whose background includes work as a host, voice actor, and on-air talent, called the partnership a perfect fit. “I’m thrilled to make WOVU 95.9 FM the flagship home for my show,” she said. “Cleveland is such an influential music city, and I’m honored to bring fresh content and real conversations to its listeners as we gear up for national syndication.”
