John E Kage is appointed Program Director of Country KUBL-FM (93.3 The Bull) in Salt Lake City. He’s originally from Minnesota and started his radio career in the Twin Cities at KDWB-FM. A veteran multi-format programmer, Kage was most recently with Country KWBL-FM and CHR KDHT-FM in Denver. He also programmed Country KYGO-FM in Denver in 2019, was a Marconi finalist at CHR WPOI-FM in Tampa and at KQKS (KS1075) in Denver, winning the Marconi Award for Station of the Year in 2014.

Kage is also a social media brand ambassador in the adventure community on TikTok and Instagram, with 10 million combined views in 2023, an Insta360 rising talent in 2024, as well as an Amazon and YouTube influencer.

Cumulus Salt Lake City Regional VP/Market Manager Patrick Reedy said, “After an exhaustive search to replace Travis Daily, who is transitioning to WSM-FM and WKDF-FM, we were thrilled that John E Kage threw his hat in the ring. We’re confident he has the skill set, knowledge, and tenacity to take KUBL to the next level.”

Operations Manager Chris Hoffman commented, “John’s passion for Country music and love of the Mountain West lifestyle make him a perfect fit for Utah.”

Kage remarked, “Thank you to Brian Phillips, John Dimick, Pat Reedy, Chris Hoffman and Travis Daily for putting their faith in me. I’m excited to join this incredible team and keep the momentum going at KUBL. Utah is one of my favorite places in America and being right next door to my home state, Colorado, I couldn’t have written a better script.”
