GOODTWIN Turns Anxiety Into Freedom With New Single “Fool”

Rising Los Angeles-based indie pop band GOODTWIN returns with “Fool,” an infectious track that captures the feeling of anxious overthinking and packs it into a freeing tune. With bright synths, bumping bass, and heartfelt vocals – GOODTWIN pulls listeners out of that familiar moment of self-doubt and straight onto the dance floor. Stream “Fool” on all digital platforms worldwide and watch the video now on YouTube.

“Fool” immediately transports the listener into the world of disco. The bass and synth intertwine with an energetic pulse that gets bodies moving and spirits lifting. The emotive voice softly repeats the intrusive thoughts that arise when worry hits: “Did I make a fool?” As the track unfolds, the lyrics soothe listeners with a sense of self-compassion, while the bass propels the song to its emotional peak: “Let’s go walk around, that fresh air might do it. Move you right through it. We won’t waste our time.” These intimate reflections, inspired by the lead singer’s own experience with performance anxiety, transform nervousness into a celebration of imperfection and individuality. “This song is about liberating yourself from that anxious morning-after spiral — that pit in your stomach that wonders, ‘Did I say too much? Am I too much? Did I make a fool?’” explains GOODTWIN. “We now almost always end our sets with ‘Fool.’ It’s a ritual of letting go, accepting what we just did, and moving on. And it helps!”  The song is paired with a striking music video, set at a buzzing party, which follows an uptight clown who becomes free and actualized as the track progresses. Written by band members Gus Alexander (vocals), Denis Victorov (bass & synth), and Cameron Mehrabian (guitar), the song also features Zac Hernandez on drums.

GOODTWIN is an LA-based indie pop band that explores themes of pleasure, pain, and the fleeting nature of time. Originally forged between friends in the living room of a tiny, Victorian San Francisco apartment, GOODTWIN mixes soul, funk, and classic rock influences to shape a rich indie sound. Smooth vocals meet vibrant guitar, bumping bass, and sensual saxophone to form something evergreen — blending contemporary with timeless.

With a catching, bright melody, “Fool” pokes fun at the fear so many experience and invites them to stop worrying so much. “Fool” is now available to stream and download, and the video is available on YouTube. Follow GOODTWIN on Instagram and TikTok @_goodtwin to stay updated on all their upcoming projects.
