Country Music Takes On NMAs
Gabby Barrett has most certainly made the most out of her American Idol experience. With several huge hits already to her credit, she now takes the single “Pick Me Up” (Warner/WAR) out for a spin and it’s already exploding at Country radio. Some had doubts about her move into this arena after American Idol, but she has silenced her critics. Elvie Shane has new track out and about at the format that is doing just fine. “County Roads” (Wheelhouse) is the cut that has the attention of music and programmers from coast to coast. It’s also a great song and that is half the battle these days.
Priscilla Block keeps building her fortunes at the format. “My Bar” (InDent/Mercury Nashville) is the tune that is picking up big support especially from our panel. Watch for some even bigger things ahead for this special talent. Lady A are as strong as ever and maybe this one will do just as well as the others. “What A What A Song Can Do” (BMLG) is most certainly catchy and after a few listens you will be hooked for sure. Make sure to open up a little room on your playlist and you will be so glad you did.
It’s so great to see Joe Nichols back on the charts. From our days with him at CRS he’s now taking the single “Good Day For Living” (Quartz Hill) out for a spin. A very solid tune that I have not been able to get out of my head. So happy for our ole pal Joe. Also pulling in some rather strong numbers is Jason Aldean with “Trouble With A Heartbreak” (Macon Music/Broken Bow). For those of you who have followed us from the beginning, we were one of the first music trade publications in the USA to chart and write about Jason’s record label Broken Bow. Do any of you out there remember those days?
Luke Combs is about as hot as any country artist can be. “Doin’ This” (River House/Columbia Nashville) is his latest and greatest and what a track this is starting to become. Maren Morris is back with another super gem. “Circles Around This Town” (Columbia Nashville) is her latest and this one reminds us just why we all love her so much on Country radio. Walker Hayes is also breaking loose with another monster jam. “AA” (Monument) is the track that tells it like it is and is one of the best out there now.
The Zac Brown Band brings it home again and again and this time out with “Out In The Middle” (HomeGrown/Warner/WAR) that is yet another masterpiece. Ernest has teamed up with Morgan Wallen for a real chart-breaker in “Flower Shops” (Big Loud). Parmalee is also on a roll, and they prove it each and every week as their “Take My Name” (Stoney Creek) takes off big time. Thomas Rhett is also keeping his streak of hits alive as “Slow Down Summer” (Valory Music) moves past the pack.
Dylan Scott has got wheels and he shows them off with “New Truck” (Curb). Kip Moore keeps rocking the free world as “Crazy One More Time” (MCA Nashville) pulls in more big numbers. Lee Brice is at his best again with the new “Soul” (Curb) single. Cole Swindell has teamed up with Lainey Wilson for “Never Say Never” (Warner/WMN/BBR) that is just fine with us. Dierks Bentley, Breland & Hardy are bringing “Beers On Me” (Atlantic/Big Loud/Capitol) to higher ground and we are so happy to see that happen for this crew.
Newcomer Tiffany Haseker has a good thing going and is also an NMA nominee. “The One” (Radiant Dragonfly Music) is her single and it’s breaking big time. Eileen Carey has been in the #1 position for weeks now with “Leave It All Behind” (RolleyCstr Music) and she is also a multi-nominated NMA artist. Rob Georg is looking to make it into the winner’s circle as his new “Higher Ground” (Coast) takes flight.
Tommy Rice has teamed up with Ed Silver for “My Momma Loved Me” (Tommy Rice Music) that is doing just fine. Callie Young is as good as it gets as her “Say To Me” (West Coast Collective) pulls ahead. NMA Nominee Lee Sims is moving strong with “Big On Little Things” (Adelphos). Ramblin’ Jake & Friends are up for an NMA as their “Crooked River” (Victorian Station Big Pink Records) takes flight. Let’s Rock the Vote!
