Country Indie Artists
Brett Eldredge has been on a nice roll as of late and continues to build his fortunes at Country radio. “Lose My Mind” (Atlantic Nashville) is yet another example of why this guy is doing so well at the format. The Zac Brown Band keeps rolling out hit after hit. “Loving You Easy” (Republic Nashville) is their latest and it won’t be long before this new gem hits the very top of the charts, Lady Antebellum has moved past their tragic accident and remain as strong as ever. “Long Stretch Of Love” (Capitol Nashville) is their latest offering and many of our music and program directors have nothing but good things to say.
It’s always great to see George Strait on the charts. “Let It Go” (MCA Nashville) is creating some early spins and a strong buzz so we’ll see how it all plays out for him in the coming weeks. Newcomer Drake White is fighting hard and all of his work might just be paying off. We caught his act at the House of Blues in Los Angeles recently opening for Maddie and Tae and he’s quite an amazing talent. His current single “It Feels Good” (Dot) continues to win some positive praise from the format and we wish him the very best.
Gary Allan is back with another track and that’s always a good and interesting thing. This time out he’s taking “Hangover Tonight” (MCA Nashville) out for a good ride. Kip Moore continues to win praise from programmers and music critics alike. “I’m To Blame” (MCA Nashville) is his latest and this one has quite a lot of building and staying power. I also really love the new single from Thomas Rhett. Already born into Country royalty, his new “Crash And Burn” (Valory Music/Universal) is why we keep listening.
Darius Rucker finally has a new single out and about and that’s a welcome sign of good things to come. “Baby It’s Cold Outside” (Liberty) is his latest and it comes just in time for an early Summer. Blake Shelton is already set for the Summer of 2015 as he brings his “Sangria” (WB/WEA) to the party. Tim Hadler is getting his buzz on and it’s causing some ears to notice. “One Plus One” (Ind) is the jam to keep a watch for in the coming weeks.
Eric Church has not only teamed up with Keith Urban for a #1 single, he’s got another that is rocking at Country radio. “Like A Wrecking Ball” (EMI Nashville) is what we are talking about and our music and program directors are raving about this one – I’m just sayin’. Jason Aldean is also rocking strong as his plans with a massive live tour with Kenny Chesney are unfolding. “Tonight Looks Good On You” (Broken Bow) helps to pick up his stock a bit as he gets set for the tour of his career.
Mo Pitney has a good thing going and is taking advantage of the situation. Many out there are all over the single “Country” (Curb) and for good reason – it’s a solid winner. We’re also happy to report that The Eli Young Band continues to build on their good fortunes. The latest track from them in “Turn It On” (Universal Republic) has all the right stuff. Also getting some love and respect at radio Eric Lee Beddingfield. We are thrilled to report that his “I Just Wanna Play” (Rebel Dawg) is a real favorite among our panel of music and program directors and they can’t seem to get enough of this one.
Paco & Lauren O`Keefe have paired for a new single that deserves your attention. “The Time Of My Life” (Ind) is the one that you should spin around the block a few times.
Dan & Shay are fast becoming one of the hardest working guys on the planet. “Nothin’ Like You” (WB/WEA) is their latest and it’s solid. Newcomer Chris Cox is getting music praise and action for his new single. “Sunday Morning Guitar” (CMM) is the gem we are talking about and watch for this one to keep building strong. This is our Indie Artist and Label issue and artists like Chris Cox deserve your continued support. I will have more for you on the greatest hits from the Country world next time right here.
