Pitbull Has Teamed Up With Kesha
Pitbull has teamed up with Kesha for a single that many at Top40 are embracing. “Timber” (Mr 305/Polo Grounds/RCA) is the track that brings the two together for what could be a chart topper. Jay Z is back at the format with a new single designed to get the phones ringing. “Tom Ford” (Roc A Fella/IDJMG) is the jam that many of our music and program directors are adding to their list of hits. Eminem has teamed up with Rihanna once again for a beautiful offering. “The Monster” (Aftermath/Interscope) is the track that keeps their story going about love and respect. It should be an interesting ride for both of them and they should have also included Chris Brown in the mix for more fun. The always interesting Lady Gaga has teamed up with the controversial R Kelly for a duet that has corporate sponsors jumping. “Do What U Want” (Streamline/Interscope) is not only breaking big at radio but you are already seeing and hearing quite a lot about the song in several television campaigns that are adding to the promotion. We’ll see how it all plays out for the both of them but so far it’s working quite well. Mic Donet is breaking fast with a real winner. “Losing You” (Republic) is the single to spend a little time on or better yet, put it into a good rotation and give your listeners are real treat. Goo Goo Dolls are back and it’s always good to have them on the radio. “Come To Me” (WB/WEA) is their latest and I think it should put them back in the running where they belong. Also getting a lot of attention is the act American Authors. Their debut single entitled “Best Day Of My Life” (Island) has all the signs of becoming a huge radio hit. We’ll see how it all plays out for them in the weeks to come. Newcomer Anthony Williams has a single out there that deserves your immediate attention. “Close To You” (Wood “N” Nickle) is showing some major progress and you might want to throw some additional spins his way. Please remember you heard about Anthony Williams first, right here. One Republic are still one of the best bands to come along in quite some time. They continue to build a large hit list and can now add “Counting Stars” (Geffen/UMG) to the column. This is another gem for a band that knows how to make solid music for the masses. Katy Perry is back at radio with yet another gem for your listening pleasure. This time out she’s taking the song “Unconditionally” (Capitol) out for a spins and everybody is jumping on this one as expected. Imagine Dragons continue to bring solid music to Top40. Their “Demons” (Interscope) keeps them at the top of their game and make no mistake about it, Imagine Dragons has just begun to become a major force in music. Bruno Mars continues to amaze us in every way. Not only has he delivered hit after hit, he brings us yet another gem in “Gorilla” (Atlantic/WEA). His sisters have their own reality show that you should check out. It doesn’t look like Bruno has too much to do with it but word has it that he will come to their rescue very soon. Britney Spears keeps her hit list alive and well this quarter. “Work Bitch” (RCA/RLG) is the loving song she’s pushing and everything she wants she still seems to get. Matt Gonzo Roehr has a real winner on his hands. “Dreamer” (Gonzo) is moving it’s way to the top of our charts after spending four weeks in the “most added” position. Frank D`Angelo continues to build fans with his stellar “Break It Down” (BKCI). Allen D is also moving to the top of the chart with his amazing “In The Still Of the Night” (New Terra). Marsha Jewell will no doubt beat them all as “You” (Jewell Lane) is closing fast on the #1 spot. I’ll have more next time on the greatest hits of Top40 right here my good friends.
