There is no artist hotter at radio than Bruno Mars. He’s now taking the single “Treasure” (Atlantic/WEA) out for a drive and it’s already breaking fast. Watch for some big weeks ahead on this one. Sean Kingston has a single out with some major potential. “Beat It” (Epic/Sony) is getting major approval from our panel of music and program directors, a sign that something brilliant is about to happen. Kelly Clarkson continues to amaze us at radio and she keeps her long streak of hits alive and well with the new “People Like Us” (RCA/RLG). The American Idol family has to be thrilled as it appears she is their biggest chart success story so far. You can bet there is still more to come from her. Robin Thicke finally has a huge Top40 hit record on his hands. He’s getting some help from recording stars Pharrell & TI but it’s only helping to take “Blurred Lines” (Star Trak/Interscope) to many great heights. Rihanna is back with David Guetta for yet another dance/radio masterpiece. “Right Now” (DefJam) is a hit out of the box and you can expect many great things to happen with this stellar team. Anna Kendrick is also getting some love at the format with the release of “Cups” (Republic/Universal/Mercury). One of the best Summer songs so far has to go to Daft Punk. They have teamed up with Pharrell Williams for the clever and infectious “Get Lucky” (Daft Life/Columbia). This song is coming up ever three hours in Los Angeles at KIIS/FM, a sign that a big record is exploding. This one you can’t get out of your head even if you try. The Stafford Brothers have teamed up with Lil Wayne & Christine Milian for a real treat. “Hello” (Cash Money/Motown) is the jam that is moving faster than a speeding bullet. Maroon 5 might have one of the best songs since “Moves Like Jagger”. Their latest single “Love Somebody” (Octone/A&M) really hits all the right notes for a single that could have a major impact over the coming weeks. Florida Georgia Line seems to have made the right moves teaming up with Nelly. Together they are taking the “Cruise Remix” (Republic Nashville) out for a spin and the results have been amazing. Fantasia is back at the format and we love to see that. “Without Me” (RCA/RLG) is her latest and it once again underscores what an amazing vocalist she is. We wish her the best with this gem. Sara Bareilles is back with a hit that is crossing formats. “Brave” (Epic/Sony) is het latest and greatest. Newcomer Alina Artts is getting raves for her debut single. “Hit The Red Light” (R.E.C.) is the track that our music and program directors are supporting in strong numbers. Phillip Phillips is pulling in some impressive numbers for his “Gone, Gone, Gone” (19/Interscope). The band Ozicely is off to a very impressive start. Their debut single “UP2U” (Symphonic) has been rocking our “most added” chart for several weeks now. Ed Sheeran is also keeping pace with the best of them with his “Lego House” (Asylum/WB). Frank D’Angelo is making some rather impressive moves with his new “Dreamer” (B.K.C.I.) single. Be on the watch for a film starring Frank and featuring his music set for release over the Summer. The band Pompeya is taking the radio world by storm as their “YAHTBMF” (Noshame) takes flight. Matt Backer is breaking wide open at radio as his “Let’s Art” (Right Records) single explodes. Dan Exactly has having a stellar run with “Two Left Feet” (Wooden Jazz). Bill Songy is closing in on the top spot with his amazing “Those Days Are Gone” (Franzia) & Marsha Jewell moves closer as “Ragged Angel” (Jewell Lane) builds strong. Be on the watch for newcomer Zack Dust. He’s set to release an amazing new album entitled Justice. It features his debut single “Good Morning California” that is nothing short of brilliant.
