NYC’s The Wonder Licks Share New Americana Single “With Feeling,” Where Devotion and Heartbreak Collide
The Wonder Licks have released their latest song, “With Feeling,” that cloaks emotional fracture inside an inviting and classic Americana melody. What initially sounds tender and reassuring slowly reveals itself as a song about distance, loss, and the realization that love is no longer mutual.
“A confessional meditation on love, faith, and quiet rejection, this song kneels at the altar of devotion only to rise wounded,” shares lead singer, Jacob Wunderlich. “Blending sacred imagery with romantic fallout, it captures the ache of loving someone who has already decided you don’t belong.”
That tension—between melodic ease and lyrical unease—defines the new track. The song drifts gracefully while its narrator grapples with rejection and resignation, framed through images of prayer and spiritual longing. The church becomes both sanctuary and site of reckoning, reinforcing the song’s central conflict: devotion without reciprocity.
The Wonder Licks have been building their following in New York City by crafting melodic, emotionally resonant Americana and Indie Roots music. Their live shows and catchy songs have been described as “imaginative and new…without a twinge of replication” and “folky new wave…like cartwheeling through the woods.”
Look out for more new music and live performances from The Wonder Licks, as well as their upcoming album release, Simping for Big Toilet, due later this year.
