Louisville is Home of First All-Christmas Station
New Albany Broadcasting Company’s WLRS-AM (1570) and W223DK (92.5) in Louisville became the first stations in the area to flip to an all-Christmas music format for the 2024 holiday season. Branded as “The 92.5 Days of Christmas,” the festive programming began on October 1 and will run through December 31. The station has also announced plans to launch a new Spanish-language format, “Latino Radio Service,” starting in January, 2025.
The coverage area for WLRS and W223DK includes northern parts of the Louisville market, particularly Southern Indiana, across the Ohio River.
Earlier this year, WLRS entered a Time Brokerage Agreement (TBA) with Thomas Hoyt’s Pure Radio, which began last June. As part of the deal, the stations had been simulcasting the Christian Preaching “Pure Radio” network, which also airs in the market on W222CD (92.3) via SummitMedia’s WVEZ-HD2 (106.9).
