iHeartMedia Asheville Announces “Show Love Fest”
iHeartMedia/Asheville, NC has announced the “Show Love Fest,” an event dedicated to expressing gratitude to healthcare workers in the community. Scheduled for Saturday, September 14, at Carrier Park in Asheville, the festival will run from 12-4pm and is free and open to the public. Presented by HCA Healthcare and Mission Health, it aims to recognize and celebrate the contributions of healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, hospital staff and first responders.
iHeartMedia Asheville VP of Sales Jessica Fuller Manley stated, “The last few years have been challenging — from the pandemic to the everyday things for which we depend on our healthcare workers and first responders. This celebration is a way for the community to shine a light on these selfless humans and provide an unforgettable day of thanks.”
Mission Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Phil Stahel added, “At Mission, we are always celebrating our team inside the walls of our hospitals, so it is exciting to open that up to the communities we are so proud to care for and celebrate with them. Music brings people together, so I’m also looking forward to our band, Mission Accomplished, playing for this gathering.”
The event will begin at noon with a welcome ceremony led by iHeartMedia Asheville air personalities, followed by a bagpipe procession from the Montreat Scottish Pipes & Drums. Live music from local bands TLQ+2 and Mission Accomplished, a band comprised of Mission Health doctors, will start around 1pm.
In addition to music, the festival will feature food and beer trucks, as well as the HCA Healthcare Show Love Coffee Truck, which will offer complimentary coffee and giveaways. Healthcare workers attending the event will receive a wristband granting them entry into a prize drawing, with prizes provided by local businesses.
