Award-winning singer-songwriter Suzanne Jamieson presents her third family album, “Love Is …”

Award-winning singer-songwriter Suzanne Jamieson wants to talk about love. Or rather, she wants to sing about it and encourage families to talk about it. Collaborating once again with three-time GRAMMY-nominated producer Jason Rabinowitz of The Pop Ups, Suzanne is thrilled to announce the July 19th release of her much-anticipated new album for kids and families, Love Is ….

Love Is … all love songs! The album has a wonderfully current pop vibe as it explores the topic of love in its many varieties. Family love, community love, universal love, self-love, pet love, friendship love, and even romantic love (via an adorable penguin “meet cute” tale) each have their moments to shine. Suzanne Jamieson’s hope is that, if we give more focus to love, we can start to build a better world with and for our children.

“As a children’s musician, I feel very strongly that children should be treated with the same respect as any adult,” says Suzanne Jamieson. “I aspire to make great songs with positive messages that kids will love because the music is fun… and that parents will love because the songs have great production values, are current, and polished. That’s why I paired up with The Pop Ups for my Bounce album in 2020 and why I still write with Jason Rabinowitz. In Love Is …., we’ve created an album that celebrates love so artfully, with variety, uniqueness, and a ton of heart.”

“The only thing that has ever had any chance of healing us or our world is love,” explains Jamieson, “and bringing our family’s attention to love each and every single day is a powerful act toward peace and justice. What the world needs now is … well, you know!”

An album highlight is “I Turn Towards Love,” a standout for its super-catchy hooks and uplifting, positive message of the happiness that comes with intentionally focusing on love. The expressive “8 Hugs” is drawn from the work of noted pediatrician Virginia Satir, who asserted that children need at least 8 hugs a day for emotional health. Emo/electronic pop vibes underpin the powerful anti-bullying ballad, “What Is Love?” “Best Bud” is an upbeat, electro-synth/funk ode to love for a family pet!

Suzanne Jamieson wrote the inspirational “Lift Each Other Up” in reaction to a flagrant display of antisemitism in L.A. in 2022.  She was inspired by the Bantu concept of “Ubuntu” (translation roughly “I am because you are”). Using the metaphor of a band, the song focuses on a world made better from community. Taylor Swift vibes permeate “It Is What It Is,” “Love At First Sight,” and “Unconditional.” “Kid I Love You,” with vocals by Jason Rabinowitz, is simply a love letter from a parent to a kid. The wistful ‘70s folk ballad, “Things Change,” reminds everyone that love is present even when circumstances alter. Love Is … comes to a heartfelt conclusion with “Sycamore,” a touching message of personal reassurance from mother to daughter.

Love Is … will be available digitally on all major platforms.

ABOUT SUZANNE JAMIESON:

Suzanne Jamieson is an L.A.-based children’s musician, singer/songwriter, yoga therapist, author, and mother of two very lovely children.

Jamieson grew up in Racine, Wisconsin, where she was bitten by the “theatre bug,” and she eventually earned a BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University. She acted in theatre and film while living in New York and Los Angeles, while also earning her certification as a yoga therapist through Loyola Marymount University. Combining her loves for wellness, mindfulness, and music, Suzanne turned her focus toward family music in 2012, after the birth of her daughter.

Her children’s albums Shine: Lullabies for Everyone (2014) and Bounce (2020) have won the NAPPA, Parents’ Choice, Kids Choice, Kids First, and Moms Choice awards, as well as the Creative Child Album of the Year award. Her song “Grateful,” featuring Grammy-winning Alphabet Rockers, won first prize for Best Children’s Song in the 2021 International Songwriting Competition. Jamieson has charted as the #1 song on Sirius XM’s Kids Place Live and has released several holiday singles that receive regular radio play on that station. Putting on her writer’s hat, Jamieson has been busy creating a Tween Mindfulness Journal, which will be published by Cottage Door Press, likely in 2025.
