The Men of The Mix Help Raise $460K to Fight Breast Cancer
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month and WTMX (101.9 The Mix)/Chicago’s The Men of the Mix fronted by Morning Mix host Chris Petlak, Morning Mix News Personality Brian “Whip” Paruch and afternoon Mix co-host Casey McCabe teamed up with Men Wear Pink campaign to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, an organization leading the breast cancer fight in the 21st century, and their commitment to creating a future free from the threat of breast cancer.
With the help of corporate sponsor, TreeTime Christmas Creations, Zanies Rosemont and Mix Listeners, The Men of The Mix helped raise just over $480,000 for the American Cancer Society of Greater Chicagoland, placing Chicago second in nationwide campaigns for total funds raised. Every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer by funding innovative breast cancer research; providing education and guidance to help people reduce their risk; and offering comprehensive patient care.
“We are so grateful to Chris, Whip, McCabe, and the entire team at The Mix for their continued partnership this October. Not only have they been leaders of this campaign, they’ve also been instrumental in helping raise awareness and funds to help end breast cancer as we know, for everyone; and kept their commitment with some great pink outfits along the way,” said American Cancer Society Interim VP of Development-Illinois Emily Lipinsky.
The Morning Mix host Chris Petlak added, “This year, The Mix audience helped us make a major impact in the fight against breast cancer and exceed our fundraising goal. I’m so grateful to Whip and McCabe — The Men of The Mix — and our partners in TreeTime Christmas Creations and Zanies Rosemont. As a co-chair of the Men Wear Pink campaign here in Chicago, I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together.”
101.9 The Mix Vice President of Brand and Content Jimmy Steal said, “I’m so pleased Chris Petlak of the Morning Mix has once again co-chaired this year’s ACS’s Men Wear Pink, where he recruited Mix fellow Morning Mix News Personality Whip, and McCabe co-host of The Afternoon Mix with Mcabe and Jenny to crush our ACS fundraising goal for 2024.”
