Pink Is Back At AC40 Format
Pink is back at the AC40 format and make no mistake about that. One of our favorite female recording artists takes her new single “Just Like Fire” (Disney) out for a spin and all of the radio programmers are going crazy for this track. We’re not too surprised as everything she puts her name on is first rate and this one is exceptional. The pairing of talented Nick Jonas with the ever strange and dangerous Tove Lo appears to be pure magic. “Close” (Safehouse/Island) is the jam that is getting a big thumbs up from our panel of music and program directors. An indication that this one is the one to watch.
The Strumbellas have a new good thing going and they want the entire world to know. “Spirits” (Glassnote) is the single that is getting a huge buzz around the music industry. We suggest you give it a few spins and let your audience be the judge and jury on this one. I’m happy to report that all is alive and well with Kelly Clarkson. So much so that her new “Piece By Piece” (RCA/RLG) appears to be putting her back on top where she always belongs. We’ll see oh it all plays out for Kelly on this one in the weeks to come.
Haley Reinhart has been making quite the name for herself these days at radio. She pulls out all the stops in “Can’t Help Falling In Love” (Ole) and the results are pretty spectacular. Spend a little time on this one for sure. The American Authors continue to work for you as a the potential favorite new band in the land. “Pride” (Island/UMG) is their latest offering and the call-out on this track is huge. There could be bigger things ahead for the boys.
The ever fabulous Goo Goo Dolls are back at radio and that is always a welcome sight. This time out their single “So Alive” (WB/WEA) really shows the growth of this band. Might be time to put them back into a heavy rotation. Twenty One Pilots are one of the hottest acts on the planet. After a huge #1 debut, the band releases the track “Ride” (Fueled By Ramen/WMG) to the format and this one could fly as well. It’s always a hard call to bring any follow-up out after such a monster hit so we’ll see how this one fairs in the weeks to come. Regardless, this is just another side of this multi-talented outfit.
Disturbed is back with a brilliant track. “The Sound Of Silence” (Reprise/WEA) is really quite something and would well be worth your time and a few listens. John Ratliff has teamed up with his band Receptacle for a solid entry in “Oh My” (Ind). If you want to see just how good this single is being received, just take a look in our AC40 section and view the charts. Erick Blu is also making waves with a solid single. “One Last Dance” (Coreconxept Music) is the jam that’s getting some big time attention at radio.
Mr Mister Wilson has a good thing going and make no mistake about that. His debut single “What Will Tomorrow Bring?” (Starchild Outreach) has been getting raves from many of our music and program directors. Some believe he could be the next Luther Vandross. Again just take a look at this week’s charts and they will tell you all you need to know. Slyder Davis is pulling in some rather impressive spins at the format. “Going Out With A Bang” (Ind) is the track to pay very close attention to.
Eileen Carey is having quite a run with her “Bring On The Big” (Rolley Coaster) single and we are so happy to see that. Those American Nomads can do no wrong as “Revelation” (Motovun) takes flight. Jimmy White continues to build his music return with the ever brilliant “Michaela” (828) that is the perfect Summer song. Move this one into heavy now.
NMA winners Mirage Box have been at #1 for a record number of weeks with their ever brilliant “Secret Smile” (Growlyman Endeavors) and now the Billboard stations are playing it. Chuck Murphy, another NMA winner, is taking his Glenn Frey tribute song “Falling Star” (One West) to higher chart moves. Airy Jeanine continues to amaze with “Do You” (Kmina Entertainment) which is ever so great. Brandy Moss Scott is moving to the top with her heartfelt “Oh How It Hurts” (Heavenly Tunes). Dianne Meinke has it all going her way with “Ten Thousand More” (UVI) & NMA winner Joey Canyon is crossing over big with “White Limousines” (Glo-Dot). I’ll have more for you on big AC Hits next
