Kelly Parkes Ready To Make Big Impact At Radio
When we talk about the best of the indie Country artists, the name Kelly Parkes always seems to come to mind. Her voice, a power house no doubt, has brought comparisons to the likes of Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride. We spoke with Kelly recently and she gave us some feedback about what’s been going on with her music career. As the story goes while working on her singing and songwriting in the Nashville community, she met up with Mike Borchetta and his wife, Martha. They immediately liked Kelly and within twenty- four hours of their meeting, she had signed her first record deal. Since signing with them, Kelly hasn’t looked back. Last month Kelly had the honor of opening for Lonestar and Joe Nichols at the 2013 WIOV Turkeyhill Fall Festival in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. “It was an amazing experience playing in front of 43,000 people, and to have my parents there made it extra special ” she told us . Kelly even performed the national anthem back at her old school. She recently recorded a new Christmas single entitled “I Believe”. Kelly also had a hand in co-writing the lyrics and the melody for the song. Today, she is also has a new Children’s Book co- author of “I Believe”. Turning this new single in to an illustrated, Children’s Christmas Book is a major accomplishment. “Christmas has always been my favorite time of year and to have the song and the book as part of it has been such a wonderful experience”, she adds. Her new holiday song and book are sure to be a classic that can be brought out every Christmas holiday. We’re so happy for her and we wish Kelly Parkes and her wonderful family the very best this holiday season. Check out more here at NMW.
